This is the first in a series of “pop quizzes” for science fair competitors to practice their skills. Think of them as “time trials” for cycling or “scrimmages” for soccer. Feel free to leave your answers in the comment box.

    The dependent variable is the one that you will measure after making changes to the independent variable.

    Answers:
    Project 1 = b. viscosity;
    Project 2 = a. amount of hydrogen gas;
    Project 3 = a. the number of spiders
